Christmas is almost here

Not completed needs beading and all the butterflies are not attached they are waiting for me to bead them  I need quiet down time to finish this project.
We had our family gathering last Sunday it was wonderful having almost everyone here twenty-two and growing...  The food was wonderful but we had way too much, my children have taken to bringing their own containers with them so they can have some of the left overs this works out real well and they always leave enough for us old folks.  Christmas eve we go to Karol's and brunch will be here Christmas morning.  I make eggs Benedict, Jerry will do waffles and we will have stick-buns and sausages and fruit the last Christmas meal before we diet.   After all that excitement we have to get packing for our trip to the Islands for two weeks of fun in the sun.  I have my wall piece quilted and ready to bead which s what I do on vacation. So I'll not be on the web for two weeks, Ernie our son will house sit or should I say cat sit, I hope they get along Lilly is the kind of cat when someone is around she disappears especially when the kids are here; Ernie may never see her she is such a spooky cat, jumps out of her skin at the tiniest noise.  I have been scratched several times when she has heard something and jumped out of my lap leaving scratch marks on my legs, she really flies.  So for now have a Happy Christmas I am going to bed before mid-night. Well I am going to try.

Leaves of God Fall 2009

My seasons have flown by so fast
I can hardly remember the details of my budding
I bloomed far too early forced by natures call
The flower of my youth stolen
My spring lost

I could not hold my bloom
As fruit required all my time
That season of summer went so fast
Consumed by my fruit youth slipped away
Never to swing freely in the warm summers breeze
I held fast lest my fruit should fall

Hot summer days turn to chilly nights
My fruit now ripe hear falls call
They release to face their own unknown
I watch as they fall free
My branches lift from their weight
I stand-alone the crisp air begins to blow

Indian summer comes with new love
I bask in the crisp sun light
My beauty is seen and shared
With the bloom of crimson leaves
My golden years begin

Too soon, I see my skin begin to shrivel
Youths golden beauty slips into grey
My hold on the tree of life seems futile
The frost of winter comes so fast
I hold tight lest I fall

So many leaves are falling
I watch as they let go one by one
My winter is here my time has come
The cold ground awaits my fall

The snows of winter cover my memory
Yet the family tree still stands
Spring will come
New leaves will unfold
The seasons of life begins again
