Finally finished

Yes I have been very busy and I am so happy to finally get a few projects finished.....I have so much to do to clean out my sewing room, I want to get my ducks in a row so to speak.  So Here they are, the first one is a challenge,  the quilt has already found a new home at the St Anthony's auction.  Now I have to finish the quilt I am making for my son who will have surgery next month I hope I get it finished before he has to go to the hospital...

Our lives are so Fragil

We hurry through life day after day and hardly take time to stop and look at those around us.  Not just family we always have time for them but I am talking about everybody we meet along the way; the clerk in the store, and the multitude of other people who touch our lives day by day. We hardly look up to see who they are.  I have started a new thing.  I have been actually looking and trying to get eye contact, and I see so many worried, lonely and blank stares.  I am taking a step forward and I tell the lady in the red jacket "you look very nice today" it is amazing how quickly her demeanor changes and a smile comes to her face.  I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER, it is amazing how good it feels to compliment someone and I mean sincere compliments.  "Your hair is so shiny", "you look very nice today", 'I enjoy your waiting on me", "thank you for taking the time to help me" and on and on.  It is so easy to do and it seems to make such a difference in the hour by hour workers day, including mine...
It is so easy and so often forgotten, I have to admit I love it when someone compliments me...I learned a secret a long time ago and that was to just say "thank you" not "oh this old thing"?  Accept the compliment, you are worthy to be praised, I am worthy of a compliment right? of course I am and so are you and everybody else for that matter....The gift of a smile or a compliment is free and it feels so good. It is so easy why do we get so busy that we forget this simple gesture.
